Supporting Care Leavers in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire
Both Nottingham city and Nottinghamshire County Council have now released their Care Leaver’s Local Offer – guidance, support and services which are available for those who have left care or are due to leave care soon, age 18 – 25.
The Local Offer is divided into sections such as ‘Setting up home’, ‘Money’ and ‘Training and jobs’, with each giving information and direction to support care leavers to find their way in all areas of life.
Futures is proud to offer support and guidance to care leavers who are looking for advice and information about employment, education and skills and we have had lovely feedback from individuals we have worked with;
Leaving Care Adviser, Jackie Kervick adds:
“I love my job! I am proud to support our City’s care leavers and offer guidance to individuals who may be at an increased risk of being disadvantaged as they enter adult life. It is fantastic to see those we work with achieve their goals and find success and fulfilment in their lives and careers.”
