This week, we’re focusing on skills. Everyone has them and you probably use some of them every day. But are they the right skills for work, and what can you do if not?

Hard Skills

Hard skills include qualifications and abilities that are learned through work experience, courses and formal training. In more practical jobs, this includes physical skills such as plumbing, but in other sectors, this can include analytics, administration or how to use specific software.

Soft skills

Soft skillls or ‘transferable skills’ aren't specific to any job, sector or person. These include organisation, timekeeping, communication, teamwork and problem-solving, among many others. To some people, these skills come naturall, for others it take a bit of work.

Improving these skills

If you need to work on your skills to meet your 2020 goals, Futures can help. We can help you find the right course of action to achieve more.

Talk to us and find out how we can help you to develop your existing skills and discover new ones.
