Preparing to Work in Schools

This course will equipt you with the knowledge needed to develop your understanding of the school environment; child development; keeping children and young people healthy, safe and well; and communication with children and adults.  

You do not need to be working or undertaking practical placements to take this qualification.

Learn in-person at our Nottingham Training Centre or remotely online.

Can I access a short course?

To be eligible you must meet the following criteria:

  • I currently live in England
  • I was aged 19 or over on 31st August 2023
  • I have lived in the UK or EU/EEA for the last 3 years*
  • I am seeking employment/claiming unemployment benefits or earning below £22,308 annually**

I am actively seeking employment and claiming an unemployment benefit ** OR I am earning under £20,319 annual gross salary and be able to commit to the course.
