Weekly working hours Morning, afternoon & night shifts. Monday to Friday Mornings is 06:00 to 13:24 or 14:15. Monday to Friday Afternoons is 14:00 to 22:00 or 24:00 Monday to Thursday Nights is 22:00 to 06:00. We don’t rotate shifts – you tend to stay on one shift that suits.

    2K Polymer Systems is a leading manufacturer of 2-part resin systems for anchoring steel to concrete. We sell our private-label products globally to the construction and building sector – exporting millions of products a year to more than 80 countries around the world.

    Our core offer is an extensive range of high-performance, chemical anchoring systems for construction, building and DIY projects around the world. We have formulations to suit all markets and packaging solutions for all sales channels for both large or small applications. We mix, fill and pack our products at our factory in Somercotes, Alfreton.

    We have been manufacturing anchoring products for safety critical applications for more than 50 years and they are now used for over 100 million fixing and anchoring applications each year.


  • Overall responsibility for: quantity and quality of products filled or packed

     

    Purpose of the role: to fill and pack company products to the agreed standard to meet customer orders

     

    Primary Duties:

    §  To operate one or more filling machines or work on a packing line, producing a set amount of products within a set time period, as described on the production docket.

    §  To follow production guidelines and specifications.

    §  To ensure products are produced to the required quality.

    §  To complete documents to ensure there is a traceable record of the product completion.

    §  To undertake training to develop the experience and skills to work on a number of different machines and tasks

    §  If suitably trained, to use lifting and handling devices or forklift trucks to move materials and products around the factory to meet production requirements. 

    §  To take care of company equipment and report any damages or maintenance required.

    §  To raise any concerns about your training or ability to complete any task prior to commencement.

    §  To report any health and safety concerns, near misses or accidents using the Accident Reporting System (ADONMI).

    §  To be aware of and comply with all Company rules and procedures, especially those relating to health and safety, the wearing of PPE, Fire Safety and COSHH.

    §  To help keep the factory environment and machinery in a safe and clean condition.

    §  To work as a team within the section, providing support to colleagues if required.

     

    Secondary Duties:

    §  If suitably trained, carry out changeover processes and/or routine maintenance tasks.

    §  Once skilled at a particular task or machine, to train and support colleague to develop their skills.

    §  To contribute to any improvements and change projects that are being considered.

    §  To maintain and improve production efficiencies, and make suggestions for continuous improvement.

    §  To communicate any issues or concerns to the Production Support Team promptly.

     

    Person Specification:

    §  Basic standard of education.

    §  Experience of working in a production environment

    §  An aptitude for factory machinery and a willingness to learn

    §  Attention to detail

    §  Good time-keeping and attendance record

    §  Positive attitude, respectful and helpful to others

    Adaptable and flexible, a team player with a ‘can do’ attitude

    Own transport is ideal as it can be difficult to get to us by bus for the early morning or late finish times.
