Your Future Starts Here – What Will You Achieve in 2019?
We’re almost two months into 2019 and things have started to settle down. This means that, for many of us, the annual routine of making (and breaking) resolutions is well underway.
Data from a YouGov poll shows that just 1 in 5 (22%) people have made New Year’s resolutions for 2019 and the majority of those are aged 18-24. Research from last year shows 64% of people failed to keep their New Years’ resolutions.
At Futures, we believe that you can achieve any goal you set for yourself – as long as you go about it the right way and have the support you need to see it through to the end.
If you’ve not yet set a goal for yourself in 2019, it’s not too late. In fact, it might be more productive to take the opportunity to reflect on the past three weeks and determine what it is that you want to change in your life.
Maybe those first few days back at work after the Christmas break have persuaded you to pursue your dream career or take the step into self-employment. For younger people, it may be that your college or university course hasn’t worked out the way you hoped, and you’ve decided not to return after spending a couple of weeks at home.
From small steps, such as looking into the types of career you may be suited to, to making a bold decision – like starting your own business, our advisers and partners can help you to find the route to success that suits you.
If your goals are based in education, i.e. you want to learn something new, earn a qualification, or get your foot in the door in a new industry, while continuing to earn a living; our advisers can help you to access college, university, adult education and apprenticeships.
If you’re focused more on the employment side of things and you just want to get into a role that suits your personality and talents, then we can help you to refine your CV and covering letter, give you tips on completing application forms and impressing at interview level. Find out more here.
Whatever your goals are for 2019, or even if you need a bit of help to find out exactly what it is that you should be working toward, get in touch with us, or visit one of our offices in Nottingham, Leicester or Mansfield to talk to a professional adviser about your options.
