The National Careers Service is funded and managed by the Department for Education. Your information is collected so that the Department of Education can carry out its functions, your information will be handled in accordance with the principles and laws of data protection and at no time will it be used for purposes that are not related to the delivery of Careers Advice by the National Careers Service.

We collect the following information only if you agree for us to do so, and only for the reasons shown; Racial/Ethnic Origin – to enable us to monitor our performance against our equality and diversity objectives. Information regarding health – to ensure that we are targeting our service to meet priority groups. If you choose not to provide consents, you will still receive the same level of service as if you had chosen to do so. The National Careers Service is keen to find out how satisfied you are with the service and how you progress after using it. They use independent researchers (such as Ipsos Mori) to make contact with you. Would you be willing to take part in this research to help us to improve the services we provide?

In order to access ongoing National Careers Service support and for your adviser to support your progress we may need to share your personal details with other partner/support organisations e.g. to make a referral for training. Do you consent to sharing your name, email and mobile number with other organisations?

We also need to email you with your personal information from time to time e.g. your CV and you have a choice in whether your data is sent unencrypted or encrypted. If you select 'Encrypted' or 'Password Protected', a passcode will be sent to you separately, which will enable you to open the email.
