Apprenticeships are a great option for you to ‘build the future’ for many reasons:

They’re suitable for all ages

Our skills coaches are currently working with apprentices of every age – from those in their teens to some in their 60’s. Apprenticeships are a great way to learn something new at any age and stage of your career.

You can study up to degree level

Apprenticeships are often thought of as belonging only at the very beginning of a career path, but that stereotype belongs way in the past!

University isn’t the right choice for everyone, and that’s absolutely fine! Apprenticeships can take you all the way to an undergraduate level qualification while still working and earning a wage.

You learn better when you put theory into practice

While many formal qualifications will see you reading and researching about the types of things you could be doing in your future job, with an apprenticeship, you’re doing it straight away! If you’re someone who learns better by getting stuck in and giving things a go, and apprenticeship is the ideal way to gain skills.

You meet people who will shape your future

During your apprenticeship, you’ll work with people who already know your subject inside out. They’ll be your mentors, help you to understand your career better and will likely be a key part of your professional network that boosts your career to new heights.

Gain experience from the start

Apprenticeships give you an edge over other candidates. Many students leave college or university with a qualification, but no practical experience behind them. With an apprenticeship, you can demonstrate that you have both studied the theory, and put in into practice for a significant amount of time. In the employer’s mind, you will be better placed to hit the ground running and excel in your role.

It makes financial sense

University is an expensive choice and can leave you in significant debt once you graduate. Apprenticeships are funded by the government and employer you work for. In addition, you earn a wage while working as part of your apprenticeship. So, not only do you not pay for your qualification – you get paid to learn!

Have we got you interested in apprenticeships? Could earning and learning be your next step in life? We’d love to chat about your options.
