Meet the Leadership Team

Peter Brammall

Chief Executive

My original career was in commercial banking, which proved to be an excellent grounding in working with employers, assessing their businesses and enabling them to grow and develop. During a spell as a tutor at the bank’s Staff Training College I caught the bug which subsequently shaped my career: seeing the power of individual support and upskilling sparked a passion which would see me lead a range of organisations over the next 2 decades in the education, welfare and skills sectors dedicated to working with those vulnerable or disadvantaged who needed help to progress. I’m passionate about our mission to make a difference to people’s lives, inspiring them to achieve their potential and am delighted to be involved in helping Futures on the next stage in its evolution, securing positive change which transforms lives for even more young people and adults. My other passions are my family and my football team, which I often combine with regular trips, in the UK and abroad, to see my beloved Manchester City in action.

Sandra Cowley

Commercial Director

Having worked within the Further Education sector for the last 19 years, I am an advocate of lifelong learning and committed to ensuring individuals have access to opportunities to learn skills which make a positive impact on their lives and the communities they live in. Throughout my career I have helped businesses with their talent attraction, skills development, and succession planning strategies as I truly believe people are businesses greatest asset when they are nurtured and developed. My role is instrumental in securing business growth for the benefit of the people and businesses we support. When not working I enjoy spending time with family and friends and undertaking property renovations.

Tom Hay

Operations Manager (East of England)

I'm very proud of the transformational impact that our advisers have on customers, equipping them with the tools to unlock their potential. My main responsibility is managing internal teams and subcontractors delivering the National Careers Service contract. When I was very young, I wanted to be a police officer (on a motorbike). I grew up in the 1970s and 80s and used to watch an American TV series called CHiPs about two motorcycle police officers of the California Highway Patrol - that is what I wanted to be!

I'm responsible for overseeing our delivery of Nottingham’s Youth Engagement Initiative supporting unemployed 16-29 year olds and for managing our well-respected NEET and Not Known levels in Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire. When I was growing up I wanted to be a vet or a lawyer.
