John Yarham

Chief Executive

I have over 20 years’ experience in the employment and skills sector, and am as passionate about it today as I was at the beginning of my career. I’m committed to the sector, spurred on by the difference we make. Every day I’m driven by the knowledge that the work we do at Futures facilitates social mobility, we improve lives. I’m incredibly proud of our ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating but more so for what this means for the people we support. It’s a demonstration of the quality of the advice and support they can expect from us. I’m a trustee of several charities and the Vice-Chair of Careers England. I’m also a keen cyclist and have two daughters.

Michelle Wright

Operations Manager (East of England)

I'm very proud of the transformational impact that our advisers have on customers, equipping them with the tools to unlock their potential. My main responsibility is managing internal teams and subcontractors delivering the National Careers Service contract. When I was very young, I wanted to be a police officer (on a motorbike). I grew up in the 1970s and 80s and used to watch an American TV series called CHiPs about two motorcycle police officers of the California Highway Patrol - that is what I wanted to be!

Michael Draffan

Operations Manager (East Midlands)

My drive and passion comes from seeing customers fulfil their potential, our service helps customers to transform their lives. This makes my role extremely gratifying, knowing we are helping customers achieve their hopes and dreams. I manage our internal teams and subcontractors across this region ensuring our customer get the very best service from us through the National Careers Service. I can't remember having any strong career ideas as a child, I did play at lot of sport and aspired to do that in a professional context.

Operations Manager (Young people's services)

I'm passionate about supporting young people who need a more targeted approach to help them reach their goals. I'm responsible for overseeing our delivery of Nottingham’s Youth Engagement Initiative supporting unemployed 16-29 year olds and for managing our well-respected NEET and Not Known levels in Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire. When I was growing up I wanted to be a vet or a lawyer.
